WIC – Women, Infants and Children

Supplemental foods, healthcare referrals, nutrition education for low-income pregnant, breastfeeding and non-breastfeeding postpartum women. Also includes infants and children up to age five who are found to be at nutritional risk.

Community Action Services

To qualify for assistance, you are required to meet with one of our caseworkers to assess needs, determine eligibility, and create a plan of action to resolve the crisis. Must fill out a client intake form online. Located in Provo. OPEN Mon-Fri 8 am- 4 pm

Food and Care Coalition- Direct Services

Provides funds for shelter and rental aid. Shelter is available to men, women, and couples through a motel voucher system. Clients make requests during regular business hours. Rental aid is available for first month’s rent considerations. Requires documentation. Mon-Fri 8 am- 4 pm

Collaborative Program between HUD and the VA that combines HUD housing vouchers with VA supportive services to help Veterans who are homeless and their families find permanent housing. Serving Veterans, homeless, disabled.

Military Housing Assistance Fund (MHAF)

Services to expand housing opportunities to both veterans and active duty military, guard, and reserve personnel. Provides gift funds to assist with purchasing a new home, and the funds don’t have to be paid back.

Housing Works

An online service designed to help individuals and organizations working in subsidized/affordable/special needs housing. Provides resources for people seeking housing, mailing services, etc. Apply on their website.

Residential and Group Homes with RISE

Provides residential homes in traditional neighborhoods for adults with disabilities. They also have an Independence Living home with 24 hours of personal care for adults. Offer this at a reduced cost.

The Refuge Utah

The Refuge Utah helps women and children escaping domestic violence or sexual assault. They have 8 transitional housing units and can offer financial assistance for rent and other housing needs. They also offer therapy, support classes, and have a 24/7 hotline.

Weatherization Assistance helps low-income individuals and families reduce energy costs and increase comfort and safety in their homes. We help clients with energy education, indoor air quality, combustion safety and energy efficiency. Reduced-cost services.

The local branches of the Salvation Army administer the program and distribute the grants and funds to individuals who need the assistance with their bills.

Prevent T2: National Diabetes Prevention Program

This 1-year lifestyle change program is for those that have been diagnosed with prediabetes. Participants meet 24 times over the course of a year with a trained lifestyle coach and a small group of individuals working towards the same goals of preventing type 2 diabetes. Naloxone – Utah County Health Department

Naloxone (also known as Narcan) is a medication that reverses an opioid overdose. It is important to have a naloxone kit if you or anyone you know is using opioids. Free training and naloxone kits are available to all Utah County residents.

Family Services

Parenting Classes- Family Support and Treatment Center 

The traditional class is taught from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Wednesday nights. The traditional 10 week course is offered 3 times each year, so interested individuals must call to sign up for the next available round of classes. In rural communities or areas where resources are limited, “in-home” coaching is available.

The Kids in Care program offers child care assistance for eligible parents to support formal job search activities. A parent can receive up to 150 hours of job search child care assistance.

Car Seat Education and Safety Checks 

Utah County Health Department provides virtual car seat classes. Instructions to sign up are on the Utah County website. Parents As Teachers focuses on keeping families resilient, healthy and happy. Families receive 2 visits per month for about 2 years. Parent educators discuss parenting concerns and share fun activities that help parents and children play together.
