The DWQ monitoring team visited Highland Glen Reservoir on 5/24/2023 for routine E. coli monitoring. All three replicate samples came back above the 235 MPN advisory threshold. The DWQ team visited again yesterday (5/25) to grab a second sample and values were still extremely elevated.

These elevated values suggest that there is a high likelihood of fecal contamination and waterborne pathogens in Highland Glen Reservoir.

During an active E. coli advisory:

• Do not ingest contaminated water
• Do not swim or water ski
• Wash hands after handling fish or contaminated water
